Tasting Notes:
Nose: grapefruit with brown sugar. Hints of charcoal smoke with baked lemons evolving into more intense, more tropical notes of unripe mango and lime juice. Palate: Classic chocolate limes. Citrus and salt mingle, papaya and kiwi add further intensity. Buttered sea fennel gives a taste of the coast. Finish: A dry, herbaceous finish with waves of oven smoke. "Peat" - that's the name of the first permanently available bottling of "Elements of Islay". The powerful blended malt combines the diverse characteristics of the Islay distilleries in a complex island whiskey with incisive notes of dried fruit, spicy peat and aromatic toasty aromas. Like all bottlings, this whiskey is also bottled without artificial colourings, not chill-filtered and at cask strength.
