Unusually for the Lowlands, Glasgow Distillery also distills single malt from peat malt . The Glasgow 1770 Limited Edition Release – Moscatel Finish for example. The bottling for the German market spent its final maturation period in a hogshead pre-loaded with Moscatel. The sweet wine is made from the sherry grape of the same name and develops a high sugar content. The result at a strong 60.5% vol. Cask Strength: rich BBQ smoke, tobacco, orange zest and Szechuan pepper.
