The newest and at the same time oldest bottling in our core range. This exquisite whiskey clearly proves that even the longest period of maturation cannot tame the smoky power of Ardbeg. Complex and ultimately majestic aromas that have never come from the Ardbeg distillery.

Filled in the dark days of the distillery, these rare casks created a highly complex and beguiling Ardbeg.

Majestic notes of smoked cream and distant campfire are expertly woven with pine resin and fragrant candle wax. On the palate first a sharp pepper tone, which turns into the sweetness of a creamy lemon sorbet. A hint of carbolic soap and tar lead to a long finish, interwoven with some aniseed, cream and butterscotch.

Not chill-filtered and bottled at 46% alcohol by volume

The casks used to mature Ardbeg 25 Years Old - formerly used for bourbon - were filled in the 1990s, a time when Ardbeg produced very small amounts of whiskey annually. This makes Ardbeg 25 Years Old a particularly valuable rarity. The lack of chill filtration gives more depth and allows the whiskey to retain its full aroma.
